The Music.
Music was his life
It was not his livelihood
And it made feel so happy
It made him feel so good
And he sang from his heart
He sang from his soul
He did not know how well he sang
It just made him whole.
Harry Chapin
Most of our entertainment involves music. Waterfront
Wednesdays. Homefront. Concerts.
When we can sneak a camera in we will share the pictures
here. So check back from time to time and see who's new. Some of these
links will lead to another site so enjoy the pix and them come on back.
Hardly
Strictly Blugrass 2004.
The best show EVER. Emmylou Harris, John Prine, Guy
Clark, Steve Earle, Robert Earl Keen, Hazel Dickens, and more. The perfect
setting with the closest thing to a perfect lineup. The only thing missing was
Kris.
Kris Kristofferson.
The poet. The preacher. The walking contradiction. The
legend.
John Eddie.
Who the hell is John Eddie? He is one awesome rocker.
We have seen him a few times now and he puts on a helluva show everytime. These
are some of the pics from a couple of his shows at Waterfront Wednesday and at
Headliners.
Indigo
Girls.
We have followed the Indigo Girls for over a
decade and have seen them go from playing in an unfinished room at a college student
center to playing at the Kentucky Center for the Arts. And they keep getting
better.
Marshall
Chapman.
We were driving down the road listening to WFPK
when this incredible song came on. We missed who sang it but the chorus was
catchy and we could remember it was about leaving someplace in Alabama so we
searched the net until we found the town and then followed the song to the
singer/songwriter. The song was "Leaving Loachapoka" and the
singer/songwriter was Marshall Chapman. We became instant fans and have since
seen her perform a couple of times. Here are some of the pics of her performing
and reading from her book, "Goodbye Little Rock and Roller."
Patty Griffin.
Patty played a set at the WFPK Listener Appreciation concert which is part of
the Non-Commvention. She focused on songs from her new album and was
great! Hopefully, she will do a full show in Louisville soon.
Guy Clark.
Texas songwriter Guy Clark. We missed a chance to see
him in Lexington awhile back and have regretted it since. He is a true
songcrafter and has penned some of our favorite songs. When we learned he was
going to be at Chattanooga's Riverbend Festival it was a chance to not only see
this legendary singer/songwriter but also a chance to see another of our
favorites, Todd Snider, at the same festival. The best part was that this all
taking place in the city where Eddie's brother, Danny, lives with his wife Mary
Pat and kids Claire and Benjamin. The whole trip was magical. We had a
great time visiting the family and the concerts were great! Guy Clark was
accompanied by Verlon Thompson and
Keith got to meet Verlon the next morning when both were buying newspapers. At
the concert, Verlon performed a couple of great solo numbers off his new cd
which you can find on his site.
